April Birchbox – First Impressions

I came home to some very exciting mail yesterday. Not only did my extra tapes for my label maker (YAAASS) arrive, but there sitting on my doorstep was April’s Birchbox. I am pretty new to the beauty box scene but I absolutely love the thrill of revealing a box full of samples to try each month. For someone who is always on the hunt for something new, this is the perfect solution for me. I signed-up to Birchbox in February and have been completely overjoyed with my boxes – until now. Unfortunately my first impressions of this month’s box are slightly underwhelming. Here is a picture of the contents: Image

  • Gerda Spillmann – Renaissance Age Serum
  • La Societe Parisienne De Savons – Soap
  • Mirenesse – Glossy Kiss Lipstick
  • Weleda – Skin Food
  • Natio – Gentle Foaming Cleanser
  • Paname Paris Mirror

Now, I will definitely use the soap. But that’s it. I don’t really use Anti-Age serums. The Lipstick is a really gaudy colour. The skin food smells pretty awful. I need a new mirror like I need a hole in the head. The cleanser – I might try. All in all, I am pretty disappointed with this box.

What do you think? Are there things in there that you would use?
