I had a brainwave.
I watch Organized Jen on Youtube religiously and she has herself a Sigma Brush Cleaning Glove. When I saw it, I knew I had to have one. This is how it went from here:
“OMG Ian! Jen has a special cleaning brush and now I need to have it too”
“Its £26 that’s pretty steep”
*Enters almighty huff*
*Ian continues to ignore me*
“It kind of looks like an oven mitt” *LIGHTBULB* “OMG Ian I could totally just use an oven glove with all the little grips on it”
*Ian grunts in derision*
“I’ll show you”
This is how many of our conversations go down.
So I went off onto Ebay and bought a silicone oven mitt for £1.99 and waited patiently for it to be delivered. I will just say right now that this is the PERFECT DUPE for a brush cleaning glove. I was so proud of myself for thinking of it, then I took to the interwebs. Apparently I’m not the only one who thought it was a good idea… MANY others have figured this gem out. Never mind eh!
I bought my glove from this seller as they had the colour I wanted available. The ridges are great for working up a lather and my brushes are looking squeaky clean 🙂 I also don’t have wrinkly old lady fingers after washing them anymore. There are so many different ways and products to clean make up brushes with, but I’ve found that using baby shampoo is the best for me. It doesn’t irritate my skin, it’s cheap as chips and is very cleansing. This along with my new mitt is the perfect combo, in my opinion, for cleaning your make up brushes efficiently and thoroughly.
