Christmas Countdown: DIY Holiday Wreaths

This post is part of my Christmas Countdown series and you can read the previous post here.

Hands up if you’ve never has a door wreath until this year? Just me? Well there is a reason for that boys and girls. Since moving out of my Mum and Dad’s house 5 ½ years ago (Yikes!) I have always lived in a flat. Now, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t have a wreath if you live in a flat. I didn’t because I lived in a few unsavoury areas and I knew my heart would break if some scallywag stole that tiny part of Christmas from me. This year it’s a whole other ball game as I have my very own front door which is attached to a house!

I’ve been lusting over DIY wreath designs  for quite some time now (especially this one from Craftaholics Anonymous and this one from LiveLoveDIY) and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in. I could have taken the easy route and simply bought a standard wreath, but OH NO I’ve got to make it myself. Honestly sometimes I wonder what planet I’m living on…

Both of the sites above have far superior tutorials with much nicer pictures than I could ever muster so I will direct you to those lovely ladies for the step-by-step instructions of each wreath 🙂

They were both SUPER easy to make and look totes professional! I will say that you need a crap-tonne of hot clue for the bauble wreath! I have both of these hanging inside my house as I’m not sure how they would stand up to the harsh Scottish weather (read rain) but that just means that I get to admire them even more!

Aren’t they beautiful? I like to think I’m the envy of the cul-de-sac… I’m probably not.
