This post is part of my Countdown to Christmas Series and you can read the previous post here.
We’re over halfway there guys! Thanks for sticking by me through this Christmas countdown 🙂 If you’re just joining us for the first time then where have you been! Take a seat at the front and lets get started…
It’s a bit of a techy post for you today – I’m talking about my favourite festive apps! Like many of you, my phone seems to be surgically attached to my hand. It stays closer to me at night than my current boyfriend. It’s probably fair to say that I prefer its company to his too… I jest (kinda)!
I have the iPhone 5 and an iPad2 so I’m afraid this post is completely focused on the UK Apple app store.
Here are some of my favourite festive apps!
When I was compiling this list my first stop was Elf Dance by Jib Jab. This is a classic website that gets brought up every Christmas and if you don’t know what the hell I’m on about, Google it. The title is pretty self-explanatory – you upload a photo of you face and it is superimposed onto the body of a dancing elf. Simple, but effective.
Sleeps Lite is your standard countdown to Christmas app. Want to know exactly how many hours you have until the big fellow breaks into your house? This one is for you. On the flip side, this is also one for the scrooges out there as you can see it as a countdown until your yearly Christmas nightmare is over.
Christmas is a time for giving… and lists. If you don’t have at least 1 to-do list floating about your handbag at this time of year you must be a man. My favourite list app is Any.Do. It’s very easy to categorise items, group them together or postpone them to a later date. There’s no better satisfaction than crossing off something on a to-do list as long as your arm!
12 Days is the very app to combat those post-Christmas blues. E very day from the 26th of December to the 6th of January this little gem will gift you with a FREE download. It might be a song, video, movie rental, book… You never know! Download this app today and allow push notifications so you don’t miss out!
Find yourself with a bit of downtime in between guests arriving? Nothing to do while the turkey roasts? Well grab the Impossible Christmas Test and use that time to drive yourself mad with this game. If you’re not familiar with the Impossible Quiz series, it really is just that – an impossible quiz. If you lack a good amount of common sense then I might avoid this one. It would also be great to play with a group of in between courses.
If you refuse to pay a crazy amount for stamps then Clever Cards might be for you. It’s basically an app that generates e-cards. It’s free to send e-cards but you also have the option to turn it into a printed card which sounds pretty handy to me!
So there you go… Festive apps all bundled up in one handy place. As far as I’m away all of the above apps are free and most can be downloaded on Android too! Don’t say I’m not good to you 🙂
