Secret Garden Colouring Book

So you might be thinking why the hell am I writing about a colouring book but stay with me… This isn’t your run-of-the-mill, staying in the lines nonsense. This is the real deal. The Secret Garden Colouring Book is, in my opinion, strictly for grown-ups who miss the bygone days of youth. If, like me, you bloody well loved a colouring book as a child then this will be right up your street.

I first took notice of this book when it was featured in a Zoella video and knew I had to have it! Funnily enough when I went to look for it on Amazon it was already nestled within my recommendations – coincidence or odd combination of previous purchases? We will never know.

It’s filled with the most intricate designs which you obviously colour in with any combination you see fit. I’ve been quite traditional with my colour choices but the options are endless. The paper is lovely and thick but I’m not sure how it would hold up to pens so I’ve stuck to pencils to avoid any unsightly bleeds.

This book takes pride of place on my coffee table next to a little box filled with colouring pencils. I’m the kind of person who can’t just sit and watch the television – I have to be doing something whether it’s getting my craft on or just painting my nails. As my sewing machine isn’t exactly a quiet past-time and I haven’t yet mastered the art of crochet (grumble, grumble), grown-up colouring fits the bill exactly. I’ve really enjoyed sitting down to a film and colouring away till my heart’s content, and Ian seems chuffed with not being stabbed with rogue needles at any given opportunity. It’s a win win!
