Sew Your Own Wardrobe: Delphine Skirt

Another month, another sew your own wardrobe project! This month I’m taking it easy with a less stressful make. Coming into the colder months I’m after some heavier shirts that will keep away the chill and thankfully Tilly and the Buttons has the perfect pattern – the Delphine Skirt.

This is a pattern from Tilly’s book Love at First Stitch which I bought when it first came out. I instantly loved the look of the Delphine skirt and have just been waiting for the excuse, and the perfect fabric to make it. Thankfully, a little trip to Remnant Kings a few months ago during their big sale presented just the thing!

I spotted this heavy-weight canvas from across the room and I couldn’t get 2m of it quick enough! I think it’s actually supposed to be an upholstery fabric but I think it will work really well with the structured A-line style of this skirt.

I’m pretty sure that I’ll have the project wrapped up pretty quickly which is certainly a good thing this month as I have lots on! I would say that I will attempt to pattern match the pieces but who am I kidding really? If all things go well this will be a welcome addition to my suitcase for an upcoming trip to London at the start of November 🙂

That’s all from me today but I will be back very soon with more craftiness and be sure to check back for my reveal of the delphine skirt at the end of the month!
