Sew Your Own Wardrobe Bonnie Top Reveal

It’s late, I know, but here I am finally sharing my Sew Your Own Wardrobe make for January! This month I made the Bonnie top by BlueGingerDoll patterns and ohmygoodness is it a fantastic wardrobe basic or what?!

Can you say comfy? My original plan was to use some lush grey jersey but I sewed the neckline on back to front like an absolute dope. Cue me unpicking the entire thing and then moving onto a different fabric. Thankfully this one is lovely too and is perfect for wearing to work! I actually made this up when I was at the blogger sewing day at The Stitchery in Glasgow last Saturday which was ace. The best thing about it is that I got to use an god-damn overlocker for the first time. There’s definitely no going back now and I need one in my life. Just look how professional :O

That’s right I just showed you the inside of something I’ve made… My excitement is palpable. I also used the machine-of-dreams to attach the neckband. It’s a bit ski-whiff in parts, but for a first attempt it will more than do.

It’s a really flattering shape on me, not that you can see that as when I needed to take pictures I looked like a damn troll. Thankfully Elsa was on hand to fetchingly model it for me. I really liked putting this pattern together and I can see many more versions of it in the future!
