Sew Your Own Wardrobe: February Project

I have a confession… When I started my Sew Your Own Wardrobe project back in May last year, I thought I would have absolutely no problem sticking to it. Let me tell you that I was WRONG. As I’m sure is the same with many other sewers (sewists?) I have a list as long as my arm of things I want to make. The problem is that this month absolutely none of them appealed to me at all. I don’t really have any time to make a proper muslin for anything fitted, time is running out to order any patterns and the though of putting together a PDF is giving me the dry heave.

I’ve put off making a decision for too long and now we’re nearly halfway through the month! Thankfully, as I was going through my blog reader I found this post by A Stitching Odyssey. She hacked the BlueGingerDoll Bonnie top into a dress and my prayers were answered! I made this top for my January garment so I have both the pattern and the fit good to go. I’m totally copying her idea and calling it my make for February.

Photographing maroon is a mare!

I bought some lush maroon ponte jersey from a shop on Ebay called Regency Rag Fabric Store. I was pretty skeptical before it arrived but the quality is really nice! It’s photographing pretty light here but in real life its a much deeper red, almost purple. So that’s my plan for February and I’m sticking to it. I have hopes that buy March I’ll have given myself a good kick up the jaxxy to come up with something more inventive/not blatantly copied from a much more talented lady šŸ™‚
